A Home for Senior Cats

I never understood how anyone could be cruel to animals. Beyond that, it blows my mind to see how some animals can survive the most horrendous circumstances and still be loving and life-affirming creatures.

The Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary in Mississippi provides a home and affection to unwanted exotic animals and house pets.

They have a house just for senior cats. They have toys, fresh water and a soft, safe place to curl up and relish their place in the world.

Cedarhill was born in 1987 from one woman’s big heart and Zack, an unwanted tiger cub.

That woman, C. Kay McElroy,  was a school teacher who built the sanctuary and worked to raise awareness of the plight of exotic animals.

By providing dignity, kindness, a chance to love and be loved without fear of privation we not only help these animals but make ourselves better people.
